I spent a little time last night and this morning scripting an RSS feed for the current news section of the Guild Wars site.

If anyone is interested, I'd like to find 10 people who would like to beta-test this feed. The first 10 to reply to this thread will get a PM with the URL.

This is an early, quick and dirty version...I wanted to get it to work first, later I'll go back through and clean up the code. Those of you want to test it, you can let me know if there's any bugs through this thread, or you can PM or email me. If it's an issue with the layout, a screenshot would be appreciated.

So far, I've tested it with the Sage plugin for Firefox, Google Reader, and Google Personalized Home. Seems to work so far.

Anyone interested?

FYI: The php script I sent the link to returns an XML document. You need to have a feedreader/aggregator installed, or use a web-based one, and supply it with the link I sent. Original post edited with info on aggregators and where to find them.

PM sent to Demonstar, um, last night some time. Not long after he offered.

Hopefully, Anet will have a few news updates over the next week or so which will give those of you testing it out to see if the feed updates OK. In the meantime, I'll be cleaning up and streamlining the script...so if it suddenly stops working, give it about 30 minutes or so before you notify me. Chances are, I'm well aware of the screwup I just made and am currently fixing it. I'll be working off of a copy (well, should be working off of a copy), but you never know.

If all goes well, I'll publish the link in CW next weekend. After that, I'll set up an RSS feed for the Game Updates section of the GW website. Any other sections which might benefit from a feed?

Again, thanks to those of you who offered to give it a test run. Still accepting testers if anyone else is interested in helping out.
